My results for the What Breed of Liberal Are You? quiz

My Liberal Identity:

You are a Social Justice Crusader, also known as a rights activist. You believe in equality, fairness, and preventing neo-Confederate conservative troglodytes from rolling back fifty years of civil rights gains.

Take the quiz at www.FightConservatives.com

Some of the questions are stupid but I’d say this is the kind of liberal I am actually.

Conversations I’ve had today (‘extroverts – feh!’*)

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

After a conversation on the attitudes of (some) extroverts toward introvertion (descriptions included ‘scary’ and ‘a disease one should try to be ‘cured’ of’), I described myself as stomping around the room with an “Introverts’ rights!” protest poster — inside of course ;)

See: Caring for Your Introvert

* Max, though an extrovert, is excluded from the general ‘feh!’ since we ultimately decided that he can not be described accurately by the Myers Briggs scale, plus, he’s completely delightful to his freak introvert friends.

Tests I took today (personal dna)

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Dino found this personal dna test. Mouse over the squares to see what the colors are supposed to mean.

Apparently I am feeling trusting and spontaneous today. Low empathy though — see, I’m not as nice as people think I am! Though I am respectful I guess. Upon reflection, I think I’d rather be respectful than nice any day.

Your reserved nature, understanding of the world, and faith in others make you RESPECTFUL.

You trust those around you to do the right thing, so you tend not to get involved in other people’s affairs.

You have fewer friendships than some, but the relationships you do have are very meaningful and important to you.

Your careful and practical observation of your environment has led you to understand that others’ situations can be very complex.

The results are flattering, as these kinds of tests tend to be (my favorite personality test is the color test which I tend to take occasionally and which tends to tell me things which are less flattering but more accurate).

The dna test does sort of go off the rails a bit by saying that I’m calm and centered and it contradicts itself a bit, by venturing:

…you aren’t likely to rush into things—this patience allows you to see many different perspectives and options.

You tend to do things on the spur of the moment, not sticking to a set schedule.

.

That’s me, spontaneously not rushing into things. Anyway, a fun test (what kind of accuracy does one expect from a online test) and pretty colors. I’d love to see what results others get as well.

quiz time! (what kind of people do you attract)

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

Rock on!! Awesome.

What type of person do you attract?

Your Result: You attract geeks!

Your stunning intellect and love of sci-fi and video games allures the geeks like nothing else. Maybe it is the sparkle in your eye that makes them want to text you, who knows. Geeks make good partners, but tend to be arguementative. If you are a TRUE geek magnet, you will know if that was spelled correctly, and actually care. If it is a bad-boy/bad-girl you are seeking, you are barking up the wrong tree, unless they are just ‘bad’ behind a PS2 console.

You attract Yuppies!
You attract artsy people!
You attract unstable people!
You attract rednecks!
You attract models!

I also, surprise!, know my bible very well, am a dedicated reader and have a midlands (no accent, Pennsylvania, Ohio) American accent.

You are cool and collected

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

So it seems it’s personality test time again!

You Have a Phlegmatic Temperament
Mild mannered and laid back, you take life at a slow pace.
You are very consistent – both in emotions and actions.
You tend to absorb set backs easily. You are cool and collected.
It is difficult to offend you. You can remain composed and unemotional.
You are a great friend and lover. You don’t demand much of others.
While you are quiet, you have a subtle wit that your friends know well.
At your worst, you are lazy and unwilling to work at anything.
You often get stuck in a rut, without aspirations or dreams.
You can get too dependent on others, setting yourself up for abandonment.
What Temperment Are You?

All true, except the bit that says: “You don’t demand much of others.”

I’m happy with the result of this test, just because it says “You are cool and collected” ;)

temperament test

It’s personality test time again!

You Have a Melancholic Temperament

Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything.
You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life.
You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you.

Given enough time alone, it’s easy for you to find inner peace.
You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life.
Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times.

At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you.
You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others.
You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult.

What Temperment Are You?

I’m guessing this test is related to the theory of the four humours. I can agree about being melancholic (at least I’m not phlegmatic, if only because of the awful sound of the word, though I’m sure it’s much more healthy). I’m doubtful about the “wise” bit, amongst other things (the description, ‘soft-hearted daydreamer’ makes me want to kick a wall, for example).

I can’t help but think that being perched on a ledge is a bit extreme for an illustration of melancholy and that the girl in the image could use some warmer clothes but maybe that’s just the black bile talking.
